The La Crosse Area Heritage Center brings the rich stories of the La Crosse area's history and heritage to community members and visitors in new and meaningful ways. As a curated museum, cultural center and gathering place, the Heritage Center is both seeker and keeper of stories that matter. Exhibits include: the Ongoing Ho-Chunk Presence; Early White Settlement; Logging on the Black River; Brewing in La Crosse County; Made in La Crosse; and Steamboats, Mussels, and Fishing: Life on the Mississippi. The kid-friendly Heritage Center offers "minds-on" activities to engage and educate with fun, thought-provoking activities. A self-guided museum, with special tours available for groups and classes.
