The ADDISON HISTORICAL SOCIETY is housed in the historic 1892 Balzer House which was originally located on E Lake St.It was the home of William Balzer, his wife Marie Heidemann and their family. The museum contains artifact and photo displays about local history. CENTURY HOUSE (129 W. Army Trail Blvd): Built in 1893 as a teachers' home for the Lutheran School, The Addison Historical Society researched and restored the home to the late 19th to early 20th Century period. Visitors can experience first hand what it was like to live in Addison at this time. COACH HOUSE (135 W. Army Trail Blvd, behind museum): Built by William Balzer in 1932 using lumber from his former tombstone shop, Balzer used the building for his clerk office, vehicle storage & carpentry shop. The first floor contains a re-creation of his clerk office, a diorama of the Addison State Bank, an Addison Railroad display and exhibits on Addison's agricultural heritage. The 2nd floor displays antique items & tools.

Built in 1929 the building originally served the community as the Villa Ave stop for the Chicago, Aurora & Elgin electric train line and an appliance store. In 2009 it also became the Visitor Center for the Village providing Busniness information, Prairie Path Maps, Chamber of Commerce directory, and guides to restaurants and shopping. For more than 30 years the Historical Museum has been operated by a volunteer board. Its operation is only possible by the generosity of its membership, donors, visitors, and fundraising activities.

It takes a moment to comprehend the vast array on display. With an interest in nearly all brands of two-wheeled transport, you will see machines from eight different countries that span nearly nine decades of history. American made machines are joined by those from France, Italy, Germany, as well as lesser known origins. Jim's first collector bike, a 1931 Indian 4 cylinder, was purchased in December of 1967 at a farm auction. Unlike Mr. Kersting's wait to get his hands on these machines, you can visit this collection today. Located 4 miles south of North Judson, Indiana, on Hwy. 39.

Yada Yada Resale opened 2010 to help fund Covenant Christian School and provide affordable tuition for its young students. Yada Yada Resale accepts & sells donated quality clothing, accessories, shoes, home goods, books and more. The store is packed with great finds! Donations at the store are received at the back entrance during our normal business hours. All proceeds from the store are given directly to the school's general fund and assists the school financially year round. With the support of donors and God's direction, they are pursuing greater dreams for the students at Covenant Christian School. Yada Yada Resale is more than a resale store, it is a mission of hope.

8 years ago we were looking for an antique kitchen table and saw one listed in an auction bill. We got the table and a few more things. That was our first auction and we were hooked. People would ask us "where did you get that?" The answer was usually "at an auction". Friends & family started giving us lists and were pleased with our knack for finding just what they wanted. In June of 2019, we decided to turn our treasure hunting into a business and opened, 2nd Time Around Resale Shoppe. With backgrounds in merchandising and marketing, we take great pride in featuring our inventory in a clean, bright and cheerful environment. Serving Certified Angus Beef & Seafood since 1966. OUR HISTORY: In Jan. of 1967, a 18-year-old bar called the "Kiltie" was opened in the east part of the building on weekends only. A few months later it turned back to a full-time restaurant. In Jan. 1968, it became a true supper club called "Mr. D's steakhouse" until June 1973. It reopened under new management, the name was changed to "House O' Steaks". In 1976, the new owners (the Baryenbruchs) changed the name to "Arthur's -The Place for Steaks". In 1995 the new owners (the Kauls) remodeled, adding a drive thru, large dance floor and banquet hall - doubling the number of tables in the dining area. The Hungry Peddler first opened its doors in December of 1976. The building itself was built about 1911 and was the second on this site. The original building was a wooden structure called Boulevard Hall which was a tavern and dance hall. It burned down in about 1910 at which time the Miller family built this building and operated Miller's Tavern here for many years.
