Welcome to the House in the Country, where you can relax, unwind, dream, love, laugh, and soar. Our property is just 4.4 miles north of Sterling, IL on Rt 40 (Hickory Hills Road). Built in 1911, the restored Queen Anne farmhouse is situated on 2 acres and surrounded by fields, wildlife, and big red barns. Around the property, we have areas to relax in some unusual places. Start your day with a coffee while watching the sun rise from the veranda or end your day with a cool drink, basking in a sunset on the deck. Unwind with a book in the library. Play a tune on the vintage piano. Soak your troubles away in the antique claw-foot tub. We can accommodate up to 12 guests in 4 comfortably appointed guest rooms. Rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors with full baths on the 1st and 2nd floors. All rooms have a personal fridge/freezer, stocked Keurig, and comfortable robes. After a good night's sleep, enjoy a breakfast prepared especially for you! We look forward to your visit!
