Against the Grain was born of a simple yet profound idea... Historical beauty isn't restored, it is liberated! Owners, Scott and Jaime Buell realized early on that scars have stories. Rather than rejecting these marks, mars, and scars with full restoration, Scott and Jaime decided to go "Against the Grain" by celebrating this historical record of usage and love in wholly new and repurposed custom creations. This passion to reclaim, repurpose and reinvent drives everything that the team at Against the Grain does! From their combined store front, design center, and warehouse located in a Kenosha Wisconsin landmark, the team continues to stay true to their roots, their mission, and most importantly, that simple yet profound idea that started it all! Against the Grain continues to tell their story one custom piece at a time... Scars and all!
