The Monroe County Local History Room operates a local history museum and research library. Exhibits are for all ages and pertain to Monroe County history. Their website is very content rich and will guide you to your areas of interest or answer many of your questions. Follow their events: https://www.facebook.com/mclhr/events The Monroe Co. Local History Room also helps oversee the Paul & Matilda Wegner Grotto located off of Hwy 71 near the Town of Cataract. It is open Memorial Day thru Labor Day. Museum admission is free.
